Thinking of getting a wii could do with some advice....

As the title says, I am thinking of getting a wii for my son for christmas, he has co-ordination difficulties and I thought this may be a way of helping him improve. I am also thinking of getting the wii fit to hopefully get my bottom shifted into gear and starting some exercise. My question is this - do I need to get a wii plus inorder to get the fit plus or will an ordinary wii do - they are cheaper, or is this a false economy? Many thanks for any words of advice.
I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

You buy your Wii separately or together with a Wii Fit Plus pack (contains wii fit balance board and Wii fit plus software) if a special deal on.

Also it is worth buying a wii fit balance board battery pack.

Look for deals / cashbacks to get your best value.

With all the deals going round at the moment, and soon in the run-up to Christmas, I would buy the Wii console on an offer by itself, and then look for a deal on the Wii Fit.

Make sure it is the official Nintendo Balance Board and the newer version with the Wii Fit Plus software, as some are still selling the older version and also there is a copy Balance Board going round. There are still some older consoles out there, that don't come bundled with Wii Sports Resort and a Motion Plus controller add-on, so look carefully.

I don't know your monetary circumstance, but I'd suggest you take a look into the new accessory for the XBox.

It's called Kinect, it's a camera (3d), similar games to the wii, only this tracks your whole body. Fitness games can therefore tell you to raise you elbow slightly etc etc.

Also the wii (even with the motionplus (improvement of accuracy) is still not a very accurate control, and may not be as useful as you'd hoped.

Take a look also at the new playstation offering (playstation move), very much like the wii, only extremely accurate.

Due to price, and overall appearance of fun (and getting me off my !!!! and really moving), I thinking of getting the Kinect myself. Was interested in the Wii, until I saw it. Comes out in november.
