Parking at Leeds/Bradford Airport

I've just paid a fine for parking in the wrong place at LBA.

I have no real complaint about paying, my grumble is that when I pulled up, the parking attendant was standing right by the side of me. I looked at him and thought it must be ok to park since he just gazed back at me.

In the 2 mins it took me to load my passengers into the car he'd written a ticket and stuck it to the windscreen. When I asked him why he hadn't told me I couldn't park there he just grinned and walked off.

Now, surely, his job is to prevent people parking in the wrong place, not allow them to park just to collect revenue.

I am fuming, and have written to complain. Had a reply to say he was doing his job, but I don't think he was really.

What does a parking attendant really do???
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
