Increasing garden water pressure
Hiya,
I picked up a cheapo sprinkler for a couple quid in Tescos a while ago which hasn't really been much use as my water pressure is pathetic.
I've tried all the different nozzle settings and it varies between a dribble and at best, an old man peeing.
Is there anything I can do to increase the water pressure?
Pete

Can you borrow a hozelock sprinkler from anyone to test whether the cheapo sprinkler is at fault? I bought one of these just over a year ago and because we also have low water pressure, the spread was about 1m in diameter.
I bought one of the hozelock vortex spiked sprinklers off ebay for about £5 earlier this year and it is much better than the cheap sprinkler. It probably operates at half of the 15m diameter it states on the box but that's understandable given our water pressure and fine for where I use it .0 -
Thanks guys.
The thing I'm using at the moment is this kind of thing:
But a cheapo Tesco version. On most of the settings, it literally goes about 20cm! Would one of those spiked sprinklers be better then?
Thanks

If it's low mains pressure try turning the stop tap on and off a few times. If you are sure the stop tap is OK do this whilst running a tap. If you are in a hard water area (which most of the UK is) this helps clear some of the scale build up around joints that can inhibit flow.0
