Bought a fake item, can I SNAD as proving fake will be a long process

I've decided to go via the SNAD option rather than proving that's it was a fake.
The item was sent yesterday via RM Special Delivery, and 2 attempts have been to deliver the item today, I suspect the seller is avoiding collecting this from me, or genuinely not in to collect.
Where do I stand with this, in case the item is returned back to me?
I have been updating the Paypal resolution centre of the delivery attempts too
tia..
We should have a sticky of Paypal helpful T&C
Ring Paypal and quote them Section 13.6 of their Buyer Protection Policy. https://cms.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/marketingweb?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=ua/SellerProtection_full&locale.x=en_GB#13.%20PayPal%20Buyer%20Protection13.6 How is the Claim resolved?
Once a Dispute has been escalated to a Claim, PayPal will make a final decision in favour of the buyer or the seller. You may be asked to provide receipts, third party evaluations, police reports, or any other information or documents reasonably required by PayPal to investigate the Claim. PayPal retains full discretion to make a final decision in favour of the buyer or the seller based on any criteria PayPal deems appropriate. In the event that PayPal makes a final decision in favour of the buyer or seller, each party must comply with PayPal’s decision. PayPal may require the buyer to post an item back to the seller that the buyer claims is Significantly Not as Described (at the buyer’s expense), and PayPal may require a seller to accept the item back and refund the buyer the full purchase price plus original postage costs. If a seller refuses to accept the item, PayPal may award the Claim in favour of the buyer, provided the buyer has provided satisfactory evidence to PayPal that the item was sent to the seller. In the event a seller loses a Claim, the seller will not receive a refund on his or her PayPal or eBay fees associated with the transaction. If you lose a Significantly Not as Described Claim because the item you sold is counterfeit, you will be required to provide a full refund to the buyer and you will not receive the item back (it may be destroyed).0 -

Not that I think anything will happen but it is illegal to send items you know are fake through the post.0 -

Yes, as long as it shows online. From what you say, it obviously shows the two delivery attempts. Ring Paypal and tell them you think the buyer is deliberately refusing to accept. Generally the close immediately and rule in your favour.0 -
I would suggest you ring paypal & talk to someone to explain the the seller has not collected. As you have done all that is required, In my experience they should close the case in your favour while you are on the phone.0

thanks - where do I get the number from, I went thru eBay rather than paypal0

Ebay is not as straightforward as Paypal. However, I would still ring Ebay and see where you stand. You could always fib and tell them you rang Paypal and they told you to ring Ebay.
You need to go to the Help pages, you get a tel number with a PIN, to verify who you are.0
