Family tree maker platinum 2010.

I have just installed the above edition with their disc but I cannot connect to the internet through FTM although I am definitely connected.
I cannot register the product either on-line or activate my 6 month subscription by the same means(although I have opened an account by going directly to the Ancestry website).
Has anyone had similar problems or any idea what needs to be done.
I have Firefox and windows 7 installed and have been able to update the FTM programme on installation.

Just an idea, uninstall the software, use CCleaner to clean the registry then reinstall but don't update until registration is complete.

In the 2009 edition you register program and activate subs via the help dropdown. Is that what you are trying with 2010?
  • When the disc runs up there is an opportunity to register the product but I get the message ' unable to connect to the register server' so i have continued to the end and the disc has installed correctly but when i try to register via the drop down menu with the product i still get the same message, when i try to activate my subscription nothing happens and when i try to work online via the programme I can't connect to the internet.
I have uninstalled and installed it again still with the same problem,I've also switched off my firewall and allowed the programme access through my firewall but i still can't connect.
Hope all of that makes sense, any ideas whats wrong ?

Try the message boards on ancestry - there may be an answer there...

    Or the Help Files

    or This one
