I have always been happy with Asda but I recently tried Specsavers and it was a disaster. After 3 pairs of varifocals, I eventually had to get a refund and went back to Asda. I am now using contact lenses again with reading glasses.

Asda, just bought a new pair last night. £50 the lot, broke down on the receipt as £20 for frames and £15 each for the lenses. Even before now they were £70 and there was no extra to pay unless as the poster says above you had something other than standard lenses like varifocals.

I got Specsavers varifocal glasses for £220 and I'm not happy. The lens are so thick! This is the second pair I'm trying out; the first pair was also too thick and I paid extra for thinner ones but they seem just as thick. The glasses I had previously were from Boots and the lens were much, much thinner.
When I took the first pair back to Specsavers they advicsed me to get a lighter frame, open at the bottom. But they are still to heavy and leaving red marks on my nose.
Not sure if to to return them again. I hate being fussy.
  • Tesco is very cheap for glasses, i would say specsavers but they are quite expensive too. hope this helps :-)
