any help getting structural survey done?

Hi!
I am asking if there is any help available for my mum and dad who are on Pension Credit to get a structural survey done on their house? Thanks everyone:)

For what reason do they require the survey?

They certainly won't get help for a structural survey, but if they feel their house has serious defects, they could approach the local council to see if they have a grant scheme to bring homes up to essential standard for vulnerable/qualifying people.

Usually they will send a surveyor out to access what might be needed & if a grant is awarded but cost of works will be higher, a loan can be given, to be paid back when house is eventually sold. If a house is sold before a 5yr period of a grant being given, then usually the whole of the grant has to be repaid.
