CAFC that is just ridiculous! so i guess they dont ever let dad/uncl/grandad change their daughter just incase? I think they need to get a grip and i also think a letter or phonecall to the health visitor is in order to get something said.

No wonder you felt awful, i would too. I really dont know what to say to you but send you a huge hug and i wish i stayed closer as i dont have any friends here either and they are all horrible at the baby groups :( if you dont have lots of money or do cheerleading then noone wants to know :(

    Good point Krystal....
I'm going to write it tomorrow I think when I dont just wail on, and can be a constructive strong woman who *doesnt take no carp from no body* (My ode to Cool Runnings if anyone can remember it LOL)....

    Thanks Caz.....
I might have to start vetting the people i come into contact with.....

"Do you like the women at baby groups?"

    - They're ok

"GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT!"

You lot all pass already (even people with the lovely baby groups - not everyone can be as unlucky as me!)

CAFC. That's absolutely shocking behaviour! I'd definitely complain. Hugs for you.

  • What utter morons! CAFC - I think I might have been tempted to point out that I object to sharing oxygen with such idiotic cretins!

Anyway........... the bl**ding woman running it EYP we'll call her, asks me in front of everyone why I wasnt there last week..
    Response
"Oh well my husband works shifts and he doesnt get much time with L, and as it was his day off I wanted them to have the time together and I didnt know if he would be ok to come along. I tried phoning to check but noone answered. Last time you said it was ok if we had to miss a week because we go back over the previous week at the start so I thought it would be ok"

    EYP
"Well if you had been here last week we wouldnt HAVE to go back over it, because everyone else here had attended"

*Note noone jumps in to say "oh well I wouldnt mind going back over it*

Then Pink Mummy 1 pipes up
"I dont know about anyone else but I wouldnt feel comfortable with your husband here as last week we had all the babies naked for the session, and I wouldnt like my daughter being naked around strange men, and she loved having the freedom last time so.........."

*Note my husband is not a raging !!!!! attending baby massage so he can groom them, he was going to go so that he could learn how to bond better with his son*

    Pink Mummy 2
"Oh I hadnt thought of that, good point... because you never know do you"

    Follow everyone staring at me....
 I think I'd have walked out at that point. What a ridiculous notion anyway - I'm sure they have enough access to the kind of things they want without feeling the need to go to baby massage classes. I am very  on your behalf. I would suggest that if you feel up to it once you've recovered that you make a complaint as the EYP was facilitating it both by being negative about you in front of everyone in the first place and by not challenging the grossly offensive statements made towards you.

on a total aside (as Ive decided to try not to let it ruin my evening as well as my day)

Our co-op had loads of reduced baby stuff, organix, SMA, vaseline, sudocream, active fit size 4, and size 3's of something -cant remember what...i got some baby rice, and 2 packs of 28 active fit for £3! whoop whoop! Im thinking I'll go back tomorrow and get some of the organix pots, 4 pots for 40p gotta love that....

OMG CAFC, I am utterly speachless! What a bunch of bloody blibbering bints!

I would make a complaint. Though, I would have stuck up for you rather than sit there being an idiot who assumed that daddies with boys were all secret perverts interested in looking at baby girls.

First point. It is highly inapropriate for the EYP to comment on your attendance and especially not infront of everyone else and in such a patronising manner.

Second point. By not stopping such comments directed toward Fathers, they are encouranging sexual discrimination that Fathers can not attend baby massage classes due to infant nakedness. I'm sure a court would find that interesting since they have since made it illegal to have baby changing facilities only available in female toilets.

And C, by not allowing you to attend or even put your name down for further classes, when others have been allowed to do so, there is obviously yet more discrimination going on. It's strange that she mentioned personal feeling and I would take that as the EYP has teken a dislike to you and is letting it get in the way of her job.

Part of me wanted to walk out but then this other part of me was thinking have I just heard that right.....

And then of course the stubborn part of me was like No this is for L, I'm not having him miss out because they're all itches... so I'll learn and give L the best baby massages ever, and when he goes to sleep at 6:30pm and wakes up at 7, eats like a trooper and giggles at me all day I'll be sticking the proverbial up at them, and wishing them (not their babies - they did nowt wrong) sleepless nights and carpy appetities with really bad skin *blows raspberries*

  • Definitely complain cafc, thats awful, im angry on your behalf, my local sure start sent questionnaires out a while ago trying to understand why very few dads attend, no bl0ody wonder is it with attitudes like that! another thing that annoyed me is when i picked up a questionnaire for OH to fill in from the library the woman tried to say it was for male carers.. i said he is, he's their father?? then she started stumbling saying oh i meant single fathers? well it didnt say that on the poster it said male carer!!
