Hello Gill, missed you! :) How was the wedding and your holiday?

Awww thanks Michelle :) The wedding was fab - I got suitably drunk and had lots of fun. T has even more fun being spoilt rotten by his Grandparents, and was a little :A so they're more than happy to have him overnight again :T

The holiday was lovely, we were really lucky with the weather and my surprises for DH's 30th went down really well. I'd got him a driving experience for while we were away which I told him about the night before we went and I'd arranged for our parents to all turn up on the day after his bday and surprise him :D

T has been having some sleep issues for the first time and I think it's coz he's so active now that he needs more substance. I was going to start weaning from tomorrow but ended up giving him some baby rice when we got back today. I'm hoping to make it to the shops tomorrow so I can start with the pureeing and fingerfoods.

How's the lovely Ayana? I see you're starting with he babyrice as well. How did she find it? T loved his but I think I need to make the consistency a bit thicker.

    MFD - thanks. I've replied x

Oh dear, why doesnt anyone write about the piggin hair loss?! :( Im lucky that my barnet is really thick but its everywhere- even a is pulling handfulls out. Yuk!

Glad the bedtime went better MFD, its awful when youre used to something and then it changes! Like A sleeping through and then not! lol

Glad you had a lovely time and fantastic that T was fine staying over with gparents. She has had porridge before and seemed to prefer that to the rice but she definately seemed more full than usual- didnt even need her complimentary feed that puts her to sleep. ;) Will give her rice for 3 more days I think, just to see how she goes. If there are no problems, will begin with purees, etc. Will have to start expressing too as I cant imagine standing in the kitchen over A's dinner with the boobs out! :rotfl:

Right, have to go. DH is bashing the keyboard in the hope that he hits the enter key to send this message!

    Will chat tomorrow, night all!

  • I remember the losing handfuls of hair. I'm not sure when it stopped, but it has. Now I have the very fetching baby hair growing back along my hairline....lovely!

Glad you had a better night tonight MFD. I think we need to introduce a book to the night time routine.

Opened the exam paper and thought I was in the wrong exam. All the things my tutor said to revise as they'll probably be on the exam were not there and it felt like they've gone through 9 months of work and pulled out the most obscure little bits to ask questions on.

Head started to throb by 4pm, nose ran like a tap and the people in the bar next door made a terrible racket despite being asked to be quiet twice, which didn't help matters.

Be amazed if I've passed it and won't find out until January.

Nobody else felt very confident either. We all had a good rant about it afterwards and everyone said see you at the resits then.

Becles I felt like this in my last degree exam as well. In fact I did cry.....but somehow all turned out all right - I'm sure you'll have done better than you though. Hugs for all the stress.

Mine lasted a lot longer than two months :( and I ended up having to get a fringe cut in, as it was the front section that went awol, and when it started to grow back I looked like a nutter!

that's why I've got my new fringe :D

ETA I didn't notice it falling out until about 6 months and it fell out in handfuls. I have lots and so didn't notice that too much - its the growing back bit thats a total pain. Conditioner helps as does a good hairdresser and not wearing it pulled back ;)

I have!! I went to meet CSH, Keiren, Fitzio and Holly :D It was nice, but I was cold as I hadn't fully prepared for the Scottish summer, and the road it was on was closed so I had a 25 mile detour!!!! It was good though.

Gosh you lot can talk! No hope of cathing up on all your gassing today but welcome back Gill :hello: Glad you had a nice break.

My little boy is still poorly. I've been out for tea so missed tea and bedtime here but he didn't eat much tea and only had 1oz of milk at bedtime.:( Going to take him to Dr tomorrow if he deosn't have a miraculous overnight recovery. His chest is all crackly so hope it's not an infection.
  • Weezl - I don't have a smaller baby but we do eat out quite a lot :o so I am used to amusing Benjamin for periods of time when we are sat at a table waiting.

    So my tactics are:
    • give him something to read (a menu or similar if you are out) or a leaflet that came through the post - Benjamin likes anything 'adult'
    • I have lots of little pots with bits of his meal in. So one would have a sandwich in (let him open it himself if he is not starving, Benjamin loves opening and closing the various pots and containers I use); another with tomatoes, another with rice cakes, another with raisin, grapes, pieces of fruit...etc You get the picture, his meal is made up of lots of pots of bits of food...and then he has some of whatever we have when it gets there too!!
    • Get him involved in 'counting' stuff - even the number of spoons K has - Benjamin can't count, but he loves the whole process and sound of the numbers.
    • Drawing is always a hit :D
    • An exciting cup that has lots to look at - Benjamin has one with a straw which has Thomas on it and a floating Thomas in the bottom - this always buys a few mins of attention.
    • Is Fergie using a fork? This has slowed down mealtimes a lot in our house but Benjamin loves to stab his food (his meals have changed accordingly)
Hmmm - adopt a stepson? At the weekend I have an entertainer on hand :D

Is it really appropriate to have Benjamin reading that kind of thing at the dinner table! :p:rotfl:
