My ongoing saga some of you will know.
We are still waiting for our vendor to find a place he likes. He has backed out of the last 2.
He is a well educated man of about 60 and they are downsizing,so I don't think he is messing us about on purpose. I think they are having difficulty in finding something that is still big enough for the money they want to spend.
We have looked at other properties recently, but nothing appeals to us and we still like his house. We have said that we'll wait for the time being, but it is really hard, since we have been waiting now for 7 months off and on.
The thing is there are 3 other houses I would like to go and have a look at but they are on with his agent.
I don't think they will be suitable ,but really want to have a look anyway.
The thing is I don't want his agent to tell him we are looking,or I think he'll put his back on the market at a higher price and drop out altogether.
And if these houses are no good then we still want to wait for his as there really isn't much on the market at the moment.
Our buyers are hanging on for the moment but I think her buyer will drop out soon if something is not sorted.
What would you do?

Get a friend to make the viewing and tag along as the friend? (in the eyes of the EA).
I dont think most EAs would think there was anything wrong in viewing anyway if you have been waiting that long for some one, there does get to a point after all.
Nightmare this buying and selling lark, havent slept for weeks! Its allways on your mind!Pawpurrs x0 -
I would go and see them. If your vendor has pulled out of 2 house sales already, who's to say he wont do it again and mess your chain up? Plus I wouldn't worry about the EA letting your vendor know as you're current chain isn't that strong so I don't think you've got that much to lose personally. Besides, you may be surprised at the other houses - go and have a look.
From what I've read, your vendor doesn't sound too bothered about the time it's taken so far and having pulled out previously, I think I'd be a bag of nerves waiting to exchange with him0 -
Personally I wouldn't worry about the vendor finding out. Not many people would be happy waiting 7 months and for the vendor to have pulled out of 2 houses already.
You could still be waiting this time next year at this rate!Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
The EA will be happy for you to look at other housees on his books after all, it doesn't matter to him which one he gets the commission on. He is propbably as peeved as you are that this seller is delaying things.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards.
