How Long For Marker To Clear On Credit File

I currently have a Halifax One Credit Card.
In July I changed me bank accounts from halifax to the coop bank I used Coop's switiching service to transfer DD/SO over.
Somewhere along the way the 2 companies didnt communicate properly with each other and my DD from the credit card got missed for the month of August.
Halifax charged me a late fee of £12 (which has now been refunded) but they also put a marker on my credit file to show the missed payment. I've told them to get this cleared. They said they will do.
What i'm wanting to know is rougly how long does it take for this to come off my file? I'm wanting to close this credit card and apply for another one with a different company.

4 - 6 weeks, if you're lucky
it varies wildly between lenders....sometimes it can happen in a week0
