La Redoute

Hi everyone,

Just a quick warning to anyone thinking of purchasing womens clothing from them at the moment.

Last week when they had the 50% off offer on I ordered a really expensive coat in size 8, and as I didn't want a credit account put it on my credit card, this was still about £90. The coat arrived and it was a size 10 and therefore rather big for me.

I phoned up and they told me that they were having some sizing issues as they had changed the womens clothing sizing to fit the british standard sizes. The lady said that she would order me a size 6 and then I would get a size 8. However, I would need to pay a further £90 on my credit card and the first £90 would be refunded to my card when the first coat was returned by courier. So as it was a good coat at 50% off I went for it.

The courier has just delivered the second coat and taken the first coat back. The second coat is also a size 10.......so they now have two lots of £90 on my credit card, and they don't seem able to put a size 8 in a bag!

I have just phoned up and decided to order a different syle of coat. The lady said that she would order that in a size 6 and then I will get a size 8!!!! However, that would mean a further £88 on my credit card! And me waiting for this second coat to be collected and the money refunded, and goodness knows what size the third attempt would be.

Oh well a very bad first and last experience with a company I haven't used before!

  • I had a bad experience with them. First time i ordered i got discount but then they refused and demanded full price for the items.

Then a year later i buy some clothes on there and they send them out after i put my card details in.

Several months later i get a letter from debt collectors claiming i never paid for the items and demanding money.

Stupid French company. they should stay in France where they belong :D

Nothing against France Or the French.

  • Kentguy07, what happened? I am currently fighting a case with them......
  • Before using this company read my experience.

-Order placed for 2 double bedsheets value £41.99 Oct 25th
-Payment confirmation Oct 29th (debit card takes 4 days?)
-Nothing delivered by November 9th so i enquire.

-Reply saying "Thank you for your email.
On checking the parcel is being returned to us by the carriers as they have
attempted on 3 occasion to deliver your order.
Once this is received back into our warehouse your card will automatically
    be refunded.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
    Kind regards
Carol Jones" November 10th (no delivery was attempted as somebody is always at the address)
    -Order cancelled
-November 23rd Return of order to the warehouse and refund made, although the refunded amount was £38 and put as credit in the online account rather than back in my bank.

-Complaint sent 23rd November, awaiting reply

This company is incredibly slow when compared against usual internet shopping experiences ,they lie about delivery attempts or their couriers lie to them about delivery attempts, and they deduct money without consent to cover costs that thier own incompetence causes.

Not only do you need permission to post as a company but i'd also expect somebody representing a company to also have a username to reflect that -- or at the very least something with a little bit of class and professionalism!
