Install MS Autoroute 2007 - Windows 7 (64 bit)

I've got a genuine copy of Autoroute 2007 which I'm trying to install, the disc goes through all the stages of the install but keeps coming up with an error message - something to do with the registry, I've also tried changing the o/s from W7 to Xp service pack2 and all versions of Vista, it did work with Vista on my old laptop.
The message I get is "your registry settings for this application were not copied correctly. To correct these settings run Setup again for this application from the location were you originally installed it", I've tried numerous times to do this and always get the same thing.
I know I can buy a 2010 version of Autoroute but the 2007 one is good enough for my needs.
Has anyone any suggestions (in very simple terms) how to get it to install and work please.
Steve

Try Right clicking on the Setup.exe and "Run as Administrator"0

I'm going to sound pretty dumb here, how do I do that?
When I insert the disc in the drive it starts the install straight away, I think, sorry can't remember.
Cheers

Sorry Apples2 posts crossed, where do I find the Setup exe. file, the program is listed in the popup from the Start icon, I guess it won't be from there.
Thanks

Use Windows Explorer to look at the disk contents. you may not see the .exe at the end but you will see a file called Setup
Right click on the START button and choose Open Windows Explorer. then look at the
drive (for the CD/DVD) 0 -

gaming_guy , the 1.5 GiG DVD contains nothing special, even the inf / ini . I suspect either the O/P's Win7 system in general and DOT NET in the particular is causing the problem. Other possibilities would include his / her virus prog.
the structure of the DVD is below for you :
- the usual subs
- setup_AR.ini
- setup_AR.exe
- DVDrun.exe
- DVDRUN.INF
So the run file is <DVD drive letter>:\Setup_AR.exeDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
