I have 2 old nikons with all the additional lens, filters, flash etc (not digital stuff!) and wonder where is the best place to take this stuff to for a fair valuation and price. The equipment was my dads and i have no idea about anything in the camera field, so i don't want to be ripped off. I would prefer to have cash rather than store credit as i have a digital bridge camera already, though may consider buying an slr! Who would you recommend.?

You can use old Nikon lenses on their latest range of DSLRs. See HERE for details.
As for the body, try ebay but don't expect a huge amount as 35mm film cameras are worth 'scrap' value only these days.Never Knowingly Understood.

With a valid eBay login, do a search for Nikon and click the option down LHS for completed listings.
This will tell you what they're actually selling for on eBay.0 -

Some old nikon lenses sell for quite a lot but as metioned above old film slrs are not worth much.0 -
thanks for all the above replies.I am really wondering where is the best place to sell. Other than ebay with its exorbiant fees and my not knowing whether anything is in working condition.
Is jessops somewhere that purchases?, has anyone used the london camera exchange.(i think thats the name), is there a auction house that has a special camera section? Has anyone a place they have dealt with and would recommend?0 -
A loca auction house will charge an awful lot more than ebay ... but save you the hassle of doing the selling - why not take the whole lot in and ask for a valuation ( but be prepared for it to be very low).0
