MCO Capital loan

Hi piglets - name of the account means nothing - you can call your account anything you want. Point is, is it your account number? Guess not. Do you think this is IJ upping their game as they try try to recover any loss at the hands of MCO?0
-
IJ have informed me that the loan was paid into a bank account in my name.
Hi piglets3,
If that is correct it's seriously worrying and would take this fraud to a deeper and more threatening level. (I asked MCO that question, with no reply of course, but didn't think about it when I called IJ).
Surely whoever has set this scam up hasn't managed to get accounts in the name of everyone who was 'loaned' money? Wouldn't that logistically be virtually impossible, assuming the money laundering regulations were being administered correctly ?
Has anyone else checked this and/or asked the same question ?

I didn't ask IJ anything, just told them I had nothing to do with MCO and that I had a CRN.0

Hi Alan - this does seem to be a worrying turn of events. It turns out you can open an account and call it anything you want. Companies typically call their accounts by their trading style not company name. A trading style can be anything. But you're right, to open account names relating to each ID victim seems a very complex logistical task. Obvious theory here is that IJ are turning the screws to avoid taking a possibly huge loss. Piglets3 you need to report IJ to the police for harrassment, get a new CRN and keep us posted.0

Hi Grahamqat,
Definitely not my bank account. Not sure what is happening but my gut feeling is - don't trust MCO, IJ, MEM CF or Experian - until you have written confirmation from them that the debt is not yours. Experian have told me twice in writing that the loan companies have told them to remove the searches from my report & that they have removed them. The loan companies have twice told me they WILL BE advising Experian to remove them ONCE AUTHORISED. One of them is giving me incorrect information. By the way Experian HAVE NOT removed the searches!! I have written to MCO, IJ & MEM CF advising I have not applied for or received any loan from them & sent recorded delivery. I haven't as yet received any confirmation in writing that I am not liable for either of these loans, although I have been told this verbally. I have received a letter from IJ, dated the same day they received my letter denying liabilty, saying they have commenced formal debt recovery action against me. They have verbally told me just to ignore it, as they have received my letter, however there was a backlog. Totally Sick!0 -
By the way, I used to be a company director & have an unusual surname.0

Have you tried emailing IJ and threatening getting Police involvment as that seems to have worked for me. Got an email reply the same day of sending the email saying they will contact MCO and the account frozen.
Getting the email reply is more than I have got from Experian after emailing them.0 -
Eaglemar,
No, haven't emailed IJ because I don't want them to have my e-mail info, or any info they currently don't have on me. I have told them I have a CRN.0 -
Eaglemar's right, you need to get police involvement. Also try AF to get a new CRN explaining that this is a new twist to an existing scam. You might be the first here but there's probably 5000/10,000 other victims on this forum to follow. Don't feel isolated, we're here with you and will do everything we can to get this sorted.0

Thanks for that grahamqat & everyone,
Really appreciate everyone's input. I'm going to report to police now, as becoming really stressed over it.0
