Hi Bridggar, I left a message and they haven't answered that yet. Phoned back and didn't press 1 and got straight through. Might be worth trying again to get your CRN.0

Well, for all you Action Fraud sycophants.....still waiting my call back. Perhaps if they shut down this quango I might retain my child benefit – the only benefit I get….
I do not consider myself to be sycophant of Action Fraud - far from it! Once they got on the case and better understood what was happening, they have done all that they could - for which I, personally, thanks them.
On a number of previous posts you have been advised to keep trying to call AF rather than await a callback - all the rest of us have done that and managed to get through after a maximum of 3 calls (I did it in 2 by not pressing the 1 and awaiting an agent) - not too much of an effort on a freephone number.0 -
Thanks to our ace fraud detectives, Grahamqat and OB (aka Sherlock and Hercule) for their recent updates and theories above! As you say, this is a fraud within a fraud within a fraud - or whatever! I guess we will only learn the truth when the dust has settled and we hear the results of the investigations by NFIB, NFA and The City of London police.0

Couldn't agree with you more geomacl. i got through the second time I called AF.
Bridggar, remember this. Without having AF and being able to give them the information, we'd still be trying to get the authorities to act. Just read the whole thread and you'll see the difficulties that have been faced, before we convinced them what was going on. I think they've tried to do as much as they can to get NFIB to act. We need an organization like this to act for NFA/NFIB.0 -

I'm not complaining about your posts - far from it! Apologies if I offended. I just hate the whole cottage industry of credit rating agencys and the provision of poor information from official governemt bodies who should know better than us. The fact that AF STILL want me to contact MCO capital when I spoke to them yet again (I have tried 3 times now) means they are perpetuating this fraud. The website contradicts the agent's advice and it in order to generate a CRN you have to misinform them. (I have not lost any money as far as I am aware). A useless service from useless quango setup by a useless previous government.0

Wind power wins then - that sounded great fun. Dont be too protective towards MCO. I think in either direct or indirect hijack mode, they represent the crime. There's not a lot of difference between legal and illegal companies. Anyone can set up a company, anyone can use a trading style (different name to company), Companies House dont police anything, they just want revenue. DTI Investigations branch are just as powerless and disfunctional. Important thing is keep your CRN ready just in case you get a visit. Dont think you will as AF advise "this will all blow over". They didn't get everything right straightaway but listened and reacted accordingly and have a reassuring and professional manner. I trust them (dont know why they needed my DOB?) and think things will work out. In case thet dont, I'm going to steal my own identity so no-one else can!
I'm not protective towards MCO, far from it I hope, but we are yet to see whether our Finnish friend has been planning this for two years, or whether MCO have just had their identity stolen.0 -

Sorry I threw my toys out of the pram....
I didn't know that AF were still suggesting that you should contact MCO; their website now has a statement advising everyone to not contact MCO. Perhaps they've had to take on new people to deal this this. The guy I spoke to was great.0 -
What's a sycophant?0

Oops - if AF are still advising clients to contact MCO once they've been allocated a CRN, then they are clearly contradicting the advice given by NFIB on the AF web site. Could one of the AF agents monitoring this site, please address this inconsistency - thanks0
