I have a Candy under worktop fridge (no cool/freezer box) that is not getting cold?
The black round 'drum' thing underneath is getting warm. Is this normal /safe ?
The model is a CR 16.0 UK

The black round thing is the compressor and yes it is normal for it to get warm/hot even.
Have you tried adjusting the thermostat down to maximum cold?
You should hear the motor (in the compressor) kicking in.
If not then you have two possibilities, the thermostat has failed, or the compressor has failed.
The thermostat failure is the most likely, probably cost around £100 to get someone out to fix it, whether its worth it is up to you. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Thanks for the info, very much appreciated.
The compressor is making a noise, but I have turned the fridge to maximum (5) and now waiting to see if it gets cold.
If it doesn't, do you think it’s the thermostat? Can I get a replacement still? Ant idea how much this should cost and is it easy to fit?
Again thanks0 -
I change one on a Hotpoint, which was easy not done one on a Candy.
This probably is not the right one but looks like they are around £40.
