noNo, you're not being unreasonable.
Mark post as " not known at this address" and return to sender. Companies will soon get the hint. This is especially important for the bank. If you know who he banks with, take the unopened letter into a branch. This will block his account until he sorts it out but hey, it shouldn't have taken him 2 years to sort it out.0 -

i think the problem is the post isn't actually going to her address. the Royal Mail is redirecting it before it gets put through her door sotospeak.
Can you not talk to Royal Mai about this?
Get a copy of your expierian report, it will list everyone who is registered as living with you and take it up with them.
Make sure council know it is only you in the house, he may be affecting any benefits you get.
And above all, tell him you are doing this, and give him 1 months notice to change all his details to the new address.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
noA friend had this problem.
Her ex had a redirection arrangement with the Post Office. He was using her address for bank, credit, debt statements, car tax/insurance etc.
Debt collection agencies thought he lived there and regularly sent threatening letters. She lived in fear of bailiffs. She couldn't even leave a window open during the heatwave!
Eventually she complained to the Post Office (they had breached their own guidelines by allowing him to repeatedly renew), pointing out that if there was trouble because they had allowed him to effectively commit fraud, they would be made to bear the consequences. They cancelled the redirection and a lot, but not all of the mail stopped.
It took a lot of threatening legal letters to various companies to stop the rest.
Simply marking return to sender/not known at this address very rarely works because where it goes back to is usually a mailing agency drop, not the actual sender.

noI opened his mail and emailed the companies concerned (mainly debt collectors) with his new address. Most have stopped writing and those that didn't were sent back with not known at this address. Although this doesn't help with a redirection of mail. Does any get through???
As we also had no more joint debts, I made sure that I was disassociated from him on my credit file so his bad rating doesn't affect mine. And make sure that the electoral roll is up to date and he is not on it at your address.0 -

noI'd write to the bank and tell them what he's doing. If you have his new address, give it to them. If you don't just ask them to note that yours is no longer valid.Signature removed for peace of mind0
