Increasing hard drive capacity.

Hi Techies,
I am thinking of increasing my pc's hard drive capacity from 80gb because I have only 18gb of that free now.The last time I took it to my locao pc shop to upgrade Ram and hard drive from 40 to 80gb, they blew it and cost me data and money.
I have decided to do it with the SATA/IDE to usb adapter and connect a hard drive which will be in a caddy. Then connect to an existing wireless pc with wireless usb adapter.
Please find below the components I want to buy. If any one has suggestions I will gladly accept.
Many thanks.

Why not simply use a standard USB-connected external hard drive? I can't see what is the point of any wireless connections, and they probably won't do what you might think they do.
BTW why do you think it acceptable to preach to us in your signature line?0 -
How many drives do you have in the PC at the moment?
If only one, why not just add a new drive as a secondary drive within the PC? No caddy required, no USB interface, etc
And Yes, we could do without the quasi-religous preaching, thank you.....0 -

Far too complicated, unless you have a particular reason for doing it that way, if you do, let the group know your reasons. Do as googler suggests, any wireless / USB variant will pointlessly slow your access by magnitudes.
Ref the sig line, everyone on here knows I hate people who use these boards for evangelist purposes. God may have been omnipotent and full of mercy, but I'm not, get rid of the sig line when using forums please.
God, which god ? whose god ?

Israelis kill Palestinians in the name of their god, and Palestinians kill Israelis in the name of their god
And all the children of both sides die because some stupid adult wants to evangelise about their particular god !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Hi again,
I know it is complicated, that is why I was asking for suggestions. I am scared of opening the cpu unit and putting stuff in there even though I am okay at doing such. However because of what happened the previous time even with a pro.
If it helps I have an external hard drive that I connect by usb and do my back ups.Shall just stick to that?
Finally it surprises me after nearly 4 years my signature is beginning to irk some people. I have read all kinds of quotes and messages in people's signatures on different boards on this forum. I don't intend to change or alter it.
Someone on the GIOL board likened the issue of God succintly and simply this way: Put £1 on it at odds of 1000000/1; if it comes in then you hit jackpot; if not there's nothing to lose.

18Gb is plenty of space, unless you have something to put in it. clearout your temp files and old restore points, and you'll probably free up some more space.
As already alluded to, the combination of equipment in your links probably won't do what you expect, when all you need is an external usb drive, which you already have. If you really need more space internally, just buy a replacement internal drive, and use the external for backups.!!
