Recommendations? Canaries, family resort, October half term

Hello,

After dismal weather in the UK this year we'd like some sunshine with the kids in the October half term. Our kids are 2 and 5.

We're looking for a really family friendly complex or resort in the Canaries, as nice as possible (4*?) with the option of a good kids club if they fancy it. All inclusive or full board would be best.

Oh we need to fly from Birmingham or East Midlands.

I'd really appreciate some recommendations as we've never been to the Canary Islands.

Thanks!
Andy.

    Hello

I went to Tenerife and stayed at the Meditteranean Palace hotel which is part of the Mare Nostrum resort. Not sure about the kids club, but there were lots of children around.

The hotel is listed as 5* but probably more a 4*

There are waterparks in Tenerife too.

    Hope this helps

    Just got back from there!

Book your own flights OR package with First Choice or Thomas Cook.

Booking a DIY holiday saved us approx £500.

The hotel is all suites with double/twin bedroom and a lounge with a good sofa bed - effectively 2 bedrooms basically, as you won't use the lounge!!

Two 32" LCD TVs in each suite as well (although limited English channels, but more than most hotels).

Kids aged 12 and under are FREE, so you only pay for their flights. That is the hotel's pricing policy and not the tour operators.

Excellent Spa for the adults (One free 2hr use per adult included, then 2 goes for 22 Euros and get a free use with any massage at the moment)

AI food and drink is pretty good.

Kids Club and entertainment are pretty 'standard' but keeps the kids and adults suitably amused.

    Recommend:

Car hire with Auto Reisen (best prices, NO excess, NO dodgy fuel policy, cars nearly all new at the beginning of August - we had a Picasso 1.6 for £18 per day)

    Trips out:

Loro Parque and Siam Park are excellent - book before you leave the UK - you can get a twin ticket for £37 per adult.

Mount Teide cable car is also a 'must', but is quite expensive.

  • Hi
I'd look at s/c in playa de las americas
at the parque santaigo 3 complex. its's really nice, plus s/c you can take stuff with you.

location is fab, accommodation is fab, and there is loads to do, go to tripadvisor and see.

Personally I consider Lanzarote to be one of the best places to go on holiday.

    Great landscape
    Lots to see
    Plenty to do
    Good weather
    Good selection of hotels

No high-rise eyesore hotels (apart from one in Arrecife)

I can recommend Maspalomas in Gran Canaria, I have been several times - most recently in July to Dunas Suites and Villas which was 4* all inclusive - we had a lovely villa with air conditioning and very spacious. Food was great and they put on alot of entertainment for the kids
