Magazine sub cancelled but company still trying to charge

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help? Last year I took out a subscription to a magazine called How Your Body Works for my son. It was for 35 issues and each issue had part of a skeleton so once you had all 35 you had a complete skeleton (which by the way is awful quality, needs glue to hold together as the bits don't fit properly, and falls apart still!).

Anyway, issue 34 came - with a note saying that it had been so popular they had decided to extend the issues and create muscles or something. I immeadiately wrote saying I did not want extra issues. Nonetheless with issue 35 came with issue 36 and then issue 37. I phoned up, told them I had written saying I did not want them, and was told they had not recieved my letter.

I sent the issues back as advised. Then I recieved a bill for them. I phoned again, they would look into it. I got another email stating I owed for the extra issues. I emailed back, twice. Then today have recieved a letter saying they have not heard from me in three months so are passing it to a debt collection agency!!!

The invoice is only for £9.98 but although tempted to pay it just to stop them harrassing me, it's not my debt and I wonder if they do this regularly. The additional issues - and making you have to tell
them you didn't want them, rather than the other way round was dodgy enough, but ignoring all my correspondance and pretending they haven't recieved the magazines back is too much - I know Royal Mail are not perfect but this company don't seem to recieve anything, from magazines, to letters, to emails, and even my phone calls have been forgotten!

Any advice would be really appreciated
Many thanks
