  • Thanks everyone for the advice, solicitors wrote to them today to tell them we are no longer interested and gave the reasons. Had 2 missed calls off agent, not answering though, theyve already been told that I am no longer prepared to talk to them. Now there just the case of the solicitors fees, speaking to them tomorow, going to ask him, but wandered if anyone here would have an idea on where we stand on reclaiming our solicitor fees from the estate agent?

Shall probably have to find out if what they were doing was legal (refusing us electrical checks, other inspections etc) when we were told before we hired the solictors that we would be able to come back and view it whenever we liked. Dont see why there incompetence should cost us over £1000, would still like to try to take them to court to reclaim our losses and if nothing elese to get a bit of publicity to warn other people about them and they way they operate, am seriously concerned what they could bully an elderly or weak person into, could cost them dearly.

    Thanks again!
  • Just to let everyone know am now using an estate agent in the area who is a bit more established and has all gone smoothly, completely differant.

Note to everyone, the estate agents had the trouble with is called IMAGINE and based in Watford & Bushey, Hertfordshire.

Have heard more and more bad things about them from people in the last few months, stay well clear!!

Oh yes, and also found out from a friend of mines friend who knows a friend of a friend of a friend of the agents, ( you get the message) that the estate agent had already had had an electrician look over the electrics and knew full well they all needed replacing no wonder was so desperate to get rid of it. And apparently any insurance company would not pay out should the place burn down/flood once they saw that the consumer unit was under the sink

    Nice people!!
