Replacing kitchen cupboard doors

Hello,
I want to replace the cupboard doors in my kitchen to make it look nicer.
Problem is, some of the doors are non-standard sizes (well I can find those sizes in B&Q for example.)
Roughly my doors are:
495 X 570 (3 of these) - non-standard?
595 X 280 (1 of these)
715 X 495 (2 of these)
715 X 595 (1 of these)
570 X 595 (1 of these)
595 X 140 (1 of these)
Any suggestions?
Cheers

generally kitchen doors do tend to be standard are you measuring across the back of the kitchen unit doors?
if the doors appear to be none standard, then perhaps a trip to mfi, or ikea?
but measure the back of the doors first

I am thinkning of doing this too - does anyone know how much approximately it will cost for a 600mm door in a shaker style? I have looked on some sites on the web but it seems to be really dear anything from £50 - over £100 per door.Jane

Have done this a few times and have had a similar problem. It was the height of the cupboards that was a problem. We (I say this rather loosely, I had an advisory capacity) just added a bit to the bottom of the cupboards hence creating another shelf and making them long enough to fit the new doors. We then replaced the carcasses as and when deemed necessary. Eventually you get a whole new kitchen. Worked well for me.0

You can get made to measure replacement vinyl kitchen doors. Try :-
https://www.discountkitchenfactory.co.uk

I think there will be other companies reselling this range, if you search the web. Decent choice of styles all coming in about 20 different colours. About 3 years ago, we got some made to measure doors from discountkitchenfactory (actually for a bathroom cupboard) and they were fine. The vinyl doors are currently selling at around £30 for 715 x 600 door. You price to the next size up and specify the size you want and where you want hinges drilled.
If you just want standard size doors, then there is more choice in vinyl, wood, stainless steel... prices obviously vary more. Try:-

We have just had a full kitchen from diy-kitchens and are very happy with it. But if you just order the doors from them, they wont be drilled for hinges. Dont know about the others, but it will probably say on the web-sites.0 -
We used B&Q last year when we did up OHs old house before selling. We used the Maple Style Modern kitchen and I think you can still get the 500mm door for £5. They do the same door in Cherry aswell. They are plain but both right and left edges are shaped. We bought handles from Argos which were nice chrome effect in a pack of 10 for a tenner. I think that in all the doors and handles we needed (2 packs) came in at under £100. To cut down on cost we used left over pieces of laminate flooring to make the kickboards at the bottom as they fit in well."Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

If changing doors alone, look for a company that specialise in this, on average a door is 70% of the value of a complete cupboard. So even though it seems expensive £50 to £100 is about average.
There are a number of companies out there that manufacture, and retail just doors, most kitchen retailers however are not interested in this end of the market as it is generally DIY, and if not can be a lot of hassle as dimensions tend to change over the years and with fashion.
All the doors you mentioned above though where standard door dimensions just not at the main DIY stalls, go to your nearest indepaendant retailer and they can offer you a range.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
Doors are as expensive as a whole kitchen usually, i'd bite the bullet and get it done. Its really easy to do, build the units then screw them to the wall. Get someone to jig the worktops. Job done.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

I've stumbled across this site, Gladeside Fitted Kitchens, which is offering fitted kitchens, with appliances, for well under a grand (lowest price seems to be about £695 for a 'traditional' kitchen). The photographs look terrific but I've never heard of the outfit before. Has anyone tried them? Too good to be true?

I wonder what the £695 includes though? Might only be a few units. I've never heard of them either.0
