Very basic cheap laptop for internet?

Not bothered about high specs or technically advanced. I want a laptop for my old man as his Dell has just given up the ghost and its heading for laptop heaven. He is missing his daily dose of surfing as he now does everything on there (banking, shopping etc)

Anyone know where I can get a used bargain basement laptop to get him back on the web until he can afford a new one?

Any suggestions would be gratefully welcomed!

(Any suggestions besides eBay btw ;) )

Hi, try Bigpockets http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/ , they have got great service and offer 30 days return to base warrantee. I've bought a used RM desktop recently, a bargain!

Another one to look at is http://www.studentcomputers.co.uk/ which does refurbished laptops, although I have no experience in dealing with them.

  • Check out Staples as they can do some great deals on end of line and ex demo notebooks.

Saw a IBM R50e with 1.4ghz Celeron M with 256mb RAM and a 40gb hard disk for 250 quid in my local store!!
