How can i eliminate a "user"

Nothing to do with drugs, lol...just a minor problem with MS .NET. When i used to boot up, nothing would appear on the screen. After installing .NET, i have to click the "user" icon. This messed up my firewall settings (& net access) for a while, but that's sorted now. I'd like to get rid of the "user" button, as i'm the only one who uses this spare PC.
