No such thing as an environmental posting anymore.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0

If you can get hard evidence of the defamatory email, and can prove that it is unfounded, it seems a redress may be in order... so frustrating, the whole posting system is a joke. We asked for the south of england upon return from Germany in 2005 - we got Scotland. Someone same trade, who wanted Scotland, got Cosford...! Not strictly south, but a darn sight closer than Scotland. We've now bought a house up here, they were apparently encouraging people to get out of quarters wherever possible (money saving exercise!) and guess what? Hubby coming up for longest in post, so a posting is imminent. Frustrates the hell out of me, seems they're only too happy to get rid of the most experience up here. Aargh!0

Do you know anyone at Waddington that could mention your OH and that a bad report might have been made to keep him at Lyneham?
Friend of mine had his promotion scuppered by a new officer who hadn't known him long enough to report - did so and downgraded him to Sat instead Supr - he wondered why his promotion didn't come through. Eventually the reason emerged but he'd lost out by it.0 -

Hi all, thank you so much for all your replies, and helpful advice, we went on a family holiday for two weeks and just didn't think about it, and stopped stressing about it.
It was my husbands first day back yesterday and he told me his boss had received an email inviting my him for the posting - great! So we have an initial yes, we are just waiting on the big boss to give it the go ahead as the issue now is my husband needs to be in posting by the end of nov and my husband is due to go to afghanistan at the end of oct so I think his boss is going to ask if he can start after hes done his tour, which my husband has agreed to.
But according to the details when he applied for the posting you needed to be there for a certain date for training etc. So fingers crossed were just waiting for the go ahead today, :T:T:T0 -
The housing issues for Brize - - some families already moving from Lyneham are being placed in NEW houses in Faringdon - - so not only higher rent but also a commute - yes I know there is home to duty but you may need to factor in a 2nd car, ins etc.
Also we know someone in one of these new houses and maintence issues are a BIG problem as, due to them being new builds it's not MHS/Carillions (or whoever has the contract this week) to maintain them - it's up to the builder and someone has been waiting A LONG time for simple repairs.Cabot (0%) left to pay £2455 let the overpayments commence!0 -

Ahh so you understand the brize struggles - I assume your based in wiltshire? We have just moved up north now, hubby got the posting all confirmed and we are now in waddington and loving it, and being back with our family, at least for a little while. Our friends back at lyneham are going through the brize process, and they were told they would find out where the house will be allocated by now. Yet they have now been told they will not find out until April. It is a bit of a joke, I don't think anybody seems to know whats happening. Good luck to everyone moving to brize and I just hope its a nice smooth move in the end!0 -
We've been at Brize for 5 years and have been in a few different properties in that - first condemmed and then had to have a welfare move due to my job. My husband plays an active role in the FCG and other such like committes and I get to hear and read a lot of what is going on.
I'm so glad you got that posting - it's lovely being around family and I have to say I am really jealous - I love that area! We used to be at Cranwell and I miss it so much. We're hoping to build our own house up there in the near future.
Moving with the military is a struggle at the best of times but when it's due to a merge and closure it is so much harder. The biggest problem I can see at Brize is that the fact they've waited too long to pull down some of the old housing and haven't even started on the new. On a positive note though, when they are built they will all be 3 bed houses, but i'm guessing little or no garden or parking.
In the local rag there has been lots of praise with the boost of troops and family, however I don't think Carterton's infrastructure can cope. There just isn't enough there yet and definately little or no job prospects - unless you don't mind travelling but if you are heading to Oxford be prepared to sit on the A40 for ages as the road links are rubbishCabot (0%) left to pay £2455 let the overpayments commence!0
