Carrying bottles on long haul?
Carmen
Hi, does anyone know if it is ok to take bottles (4/6 of wine) on long haul flights?
I was going to take them in my carry on case.
Thanks

You are limited to fluids in individual containers of 100ml or less in your carry on bags. So that is a heck of a lot of little bottles...:rotfl:
Why would anyone want to lug 6 bottles of wine around unless they are b****y expensive...?0 -
The 100 ml limit is to what you can take through control...once you're airside you can buy bottles of water etc and take them on the plane. But I'm not sure about wine if it's affacted by the duty free rules0

I know that, but Carmen didn't say that he/she was going to buy the wine airside.
And what wine can you buy airside that you would want to carry on board with you?0 -
OP didn't say where the bottles were coming from...I was just making the point that there's no rule against taking more than 100ml as long as it's bought airside. So IF OP wanted to buy wine airside and there were no duty free rules etc to stop that, the 100ml thing isn't an issue0

Thanks guys and gals,
I think I had my silly head on when I posted this

It depends if the OP is planning on drinking them on the flight, if they are bought airside and then opened and it would no longer count towards the duty free allowance at the arrival destination. This is assuming that the staff on the plane allow the OP to drink the wine on the flight.
Plus the 100ml limit is then capped at a total of 1 ltr of fluids or 10 100ml full bottles.
If the OP did buy 6 bottles of wine airside to carry on, it would also be a fairly heavy package to carry around along with a carry on case.0
