Hi, have been trying to set up new Linksys cable router with my Desktop PC, have followed the instructions, right up to the point where it instructs me to remove the cable (connecting modem to PC) from my PC & plug into the Router. It doesn't fit!
The cable is a standard USB and there isn't a USB plug on the router.
I telephoned their support desk & was told I would have to purchase an ethernet cable
The problem is, the router came with an ethernet cable (to connect the modem & router), but where does this fit on my PC?
The connecter end of the ethernet cable looks like a telephone adaptor, but is much to wide to fit into the one on my PC?
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you

Hi, there is a telephone socket at the back of my PC but much to small to accommodate the ethernet cable.
Would you mind giving me the link again, as the above link takes me to an MP3 player. Thanks0 -

Have you answered your own question? Normally the modem will connect to the router. Sounds like your modem is USB and the router is ethernet. Have a look on the modem and see if there is an ethernet out on it. If not you might be in trouble. If there is connect the modem to the router with the ethernet cable. Then you'll need to find another one to connect the router to your PC.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?"
