Missed my virgin train - can I get refund?

I recently missed my virgin train from Manchester to London recently. It was 1st Advance ticket booked weeks in advance and I missed it by 1 minute. Had to pay £65 to get a ticket for the next train.

I know the terms seem to state my original ticket was for that train only but a friend informed me there may be some form I can get to get a refund/partial refund....can't find anything on the virgin website....anyone know anymore about this? Thanks

I doubt it, plane /train, you booked a seat and missed that seat,not their fault

From the virgin website "Prices advertised are for Advance fares. All prices are per person, one-way, non-refundable and are subject to availability." http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/terms-conditions/

You could always try phoning them up if you still have the old and new tickets - they may offer something as a goodwill gesture.
