Opinions on Pronorm kitchens

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of Pronorm kitchens?

Trying to decide between the Pronorm and a mereway (Wentworth) kitchen and appreciate any opinions.

We are are interested in a gloss kitchen, trying to decide between the gloss lacquer and the gloss laminate (melamine I think its referred to as).

Looking for something hard-wearing, what would you recommend of the 2?

Gloss laminate (polised melamine) is much more durable. However these doors by their construction have an applied edge which some people dont like.

Lacquer is much nicer but dearer and is slightly less durable (especially to impacts). Be careful though. The cheaper lacquered doors are lacquered on foil and are prone to delamination on the back edge. Completely lacquered doors will be painted all round and much better. Lacquered on foil doors look like foil wrapped doors with a sharper edge where the door sides meet the back of the door.

Until very recently ProNorm were part of the Nobia group that also made Poggenpohl so the fittings and carcases were the same but you just had less options and a smaller range. Only ever heard great things about the product
