I asked about that on here. Someone said that they pick you up when they want to - not when you ask. So, it could take 5 or 6 hours between you getting to the hospital, having your appointment and getting home.
if its a local hospital that CAN be the case, but if its a longer trip they have your appointment details and have to get you there on time, ive done this work, "volunteer cars" (non-ambulance servive) are given longer jobs (like yours) to keep service vehicles within the services area and thier own PAYE drivers available and able to start/finish within hours0
