    Fixed items on Hijackthis.

Computer running ok, Eset is still blocking site every 30 seconds which i'm still a bit bothered about
  • I think i'm going to do a fresh install of windows now.

What i would like to know is that my son has quite a few games eg Warhammer and Total War to name just a few. Is it possible to save the progress hes made on games like this to use when i come to re-intall them?

    Thanks

By the way i followed some instuctions on a similar post to mine and ran DrWeb, that found 3 problems which i fixed but i'm still getting warning all the time from my A/V.
Also in Donnie's Remove Antivir Solution Pro (Uninstall Guide) I ran Secunia at the end as instructed and one of the things that needed updating was Java but i remember having to uninstall previous first and then update, which i did, but then had problems re-installing it.
Cant connect to windows update either, don't know whether relevant. Anyway thought i'd be better re-formatting and re-installing windows when i have the time.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
A fresh format and reinstall is always the best way to make sure everythings fine

As for the game saves ~ its a case of finding where theyre stored (Usually within the game directories somewhere). Save them to usb drive or whatever
When the games are reinstalled, simply copy and paste them back into those locations (This isnt an exact science, but I cant see why it wouldnt work)

Any idea which file/files i'm looking for or is it possibe do you think to copy everything in each program file and overwrite re-installed files. I have plenty of storage space if needed.

Then replacing the HOSTS file should solve that last problem.
