Anniversary Meal

Just a quick one....

Me and my gf were out for a meal, were seated, drinks and starters served. 45 minutes later nothing, dirty plates and no further service (time did go pretty quick as we were chatting and playing on the iPhone!) but were got frustrated and asked to speak to the manager.

He asked us what was wrong eventually after a 10 minute wait in a not so busy restaurant and asked us to wait while he went to the till. I assumed he was getting us a discount voucher or writing off the bill.....instead he said I will only charge you for drinks (which most were still left as we were saving them to drink with our meal), I politely replied with a big laugh and 'your joking me'...he sternly looked at me and wasn’t amused, I replied I’m not paying for nothing whereby he shrugged and looked at the door!

The next day we wrote a letter of complaint to head office stating what happened and we had visited several times etc.

They wrote back and said we'll look into it.

A couple of weeks later and we got a letter from them yesterday......apparently it wasn’t an isolated incident, the manager in question has been spoken to, sent on two courses and head office have visited with their own families as customers to see if this helped.

Plus in the envelope was a £40 voucher!!

Our anniversary was slightly ruined but my gf did say at least we will look back and laugh and now we get a big slap up meal, result!
