Cheap Magazine Subscription

I'm looking to subscribe New Scientist magazine as a student, which cost 68quid on Newscientist.com. Are there any cheaper alternatives (cashback, cheaper price, etc) to subscribe? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
My University library offers free registration to the online archive of New Scientist through Athens. Also if you buy the magazine there will always be a special offer subscription rate inside. I waited until a 50% (or was it 60%?) came up and then subscribed. I think that was the best I ever saw.

Why? New Scientist is the science worlds version of the Daily Mail!
Either use it via Athens if you are at uni, or pop along to your local library (council, school or uni) and read it if need be...April Grocery Challenge £81/£1200 -
I do have Athens in my uni, but surprisingly, New Scientist is not included! I have no idea why this is happening.0

Why not try asking the science department ? At our uni they have special rates for subscriptions for students who are referred by their uni - its worth a shot !

Does your University subscribe to ScienceDirect (online database)? If so I noticed earlier today that they are celebrating New Scientist's 50th anniversary by providing it free online until December. Might save you subscribing until then! :money:0

12 issues for £12 here might need to cancel after the 12#

Hey, thanks a lot for that. I didn't know I could access NewScientist from ScienceDirect (yes, I can access it via Athens). It's only up till Jan 2006 issue though. Is this the 50th anniversary thing? I didn't see any mention of it....wonder if it'll end in December. Where did u read about it?surfsister wrote:12 issues for £12 here might need to cancel after the 12#

Thanks but the price mentioned above is not listed on their website. It's still 68quid for 51 issues. Btw, I send a contact form to them to enquire about working for them instead... LoL!0 -
