Why not, did you ask? You have to go through a normal checkout and buy the products listed on the coupons. I've done it many times without any problems once I knew not to try self-scan (maximum amount of coupons is less than £5) or customer service (you don't get the till spits).

i did try, i even told the man behind till that 1 copuon is for ariel and the other coupon for fairy. till would only accept 1 per transaction. he told me if i wanted to use both i have to do 2 separate transaction thereby, losing 2 split coupon.

I think the SA is wrong in what he has told you but possibly his Manager has taken this stance. From what it states on the coupons you could not use 2 of the same coupons in one transaction, eg 2 for Fairy, but as the two coupons you are using are for two distinctly different ranges of products I think someone who is prepared to stand their ground would have an excellent case. I wouldn't do so myself but I would probably stop shopping in Sainsbury's for a while if it happened to me!

My sainsburys will not allow you to put through 2 vouchers on the same transaction, they said it is one coupon per transaction and that is what it was meant for, not to put 2 through at the same time. The Manager said no, and I wasn't going to bother arguing. This is my nearest supermarket. And I did well before they cottoned on.
