mobile phone pics to computer help!

i am trying to install samsung pc 3 onto my computer and have installed studio 3 which is on my desktop - i am now trying to connect the phone to the pc via the usb cable and it says it should take a few minutes - io have tried x2 now and getting close to ten minutes each time - is this normal? i have never used the lead (usb) that came with my phone before and is not damaged....

has anyone got any suggestions please!?

I have a samsung phone that uses pc studio 3.
What have you done? Do not connect the phone until it asks you too. You need to run the cd supplied, then it'll go through setup, during that setup it asks you how you'll connect your phone, cable/bluetooth/infrared i think are the options. Select cable, then it'll ask you to then connect the phone. Make sure you connect the cable to the phone, then to the pc. It should then be ok everytime you connect the phone.
Does the phone display a message when you connect it to the computer? As mine tells me its connected.

i was plugging the cable into the computer 1st and then to the phone - have done it the way you suggested xzibit but still nothing... im not getting any message on the phone to show a connection...
ive tried connecting both up andf then pressing the next button ont he connection wizard and also pressing next and then connecting up -- nothing either way all i get is a message saying it should take a few minutes ...
i have run the cd as the studio 3 is loaded...

Okay, even when there is no samsung software on the computer, when you attached the phone via the usb cable, the phone should still say "usb cable attached". Can you try another usb port? Maybe the one you are using is faulty? Or maybe the cable is, it's hard to know really, but it doesn't sound like a software problem, more hardware.

thanks - tried another port - still nothing - will call up and try and get another cable. thanks for all your help everyone
