I want to keep my br quiet. I live in a small village and people are very nosey here. I just wonder why they have to stamp insolvancy service all over any letters. Surely its not needed.
Im sure my postman puts two and two together.
It does not matter if you live in a big city or town but in a small place like this it just makes people gossip and my post man is a gossip.

Mumble something about you being owed some money and not likely to get it back now they have gone BR. Don't be specific though.
They are labeled accordingly so that they are not just chucked in the bin and ignored by some.0 -
Plus also it has to do with accounting for the postage through the post office as they use a franking machine.
Also remember that the Insolvency service send many letters to many people for many different reasons, probably less then 1% go to an actual bankruptHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -
Thanks for replys, Im probably just being paranoid but I know how much people gossip around here. Im just being silly I suppose.0

Unfortunately most franked mail have logos or banners with the company name.
Obviously there is a data protection risk here. If the mail man was to say something, he could get into a lot of trouble. But proving it was him is difficult.
I wouldn't worry about it. Even if he does know what it means, it doesn't mean anything. He can't spread your personal information to everyone.0 -
I hated that too, I was sure the postie was looking at me oddly, especially as he was delivering letters with Mercers Debt Collectors in big red letters on the back as well!!0

I know they could have something different on it, but the IS does have to have something on the franking print so the mail service can make sure that the correct amounts of postage are being paidHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

I know how you feel, we live in a small village and received some letters from the Insolvancy Service - my husbands employer went bankrupt and they were sending us a redundancy notice and form to claim back any outstanding wages etc.0

I know im probably making mountains out of molehills, but it just looks so obvious. Will just have to put up with it I suppose!!0

Just ignore it, those sad enough to gossip about your life obviously have nothing good going on in their own lives! pity them!0

i felt a bit upset when the first letter came, i live where the post lands on a mat and the first person to spot it divides it up into 6 postboxes. i ws gutted that my neighbours might notice. i'm really not that bothered any more!!! they're not perfect0
