Morming all,
I've got my questionaire off my solicitor for the sale of my house, but there are a few Q's I'm not sure how to answer!
My hubby is at work and no help and I dont know where else to ask....
Q1. on the Confirmation of Instructions Sale sheet, it says "Please give details of your exsisting mortgage" Is this how much is outstanding and what type of mortgage we have???
Q2. On the Property Information Form, it says " Is the property connected to mains surface water drainage? What is this?!
I have drainage under the property as normal but nothing I can see on the surface, only the drains them self or am I being dumb
Thanks in advance guys

Q1 is Lender and account number. This will allow the solicitor to get a 'redemption statement' to allow them to pay off the mortgage. Amount outstanding could also be useful to allow solicitor to tell you if you would have a problem clearing the mortgage, which would be a showstopper.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Re the drainage, surface drainage is that which runs off of the roof into guttering/downpipes(rain). In some properties in then connects into the main house/sewerage drains and in other in runs off away(usually down garden) into a soakaway. If it is the latter then it is not connected to mains drainage.
Basically the point of it is to see where the rain water goes if not connected to mains(ie is there a potential risk of flooding etc)0 -

Ours came with a letter or a small booklet that told us exactly what they were looking for with each question.
Hope that the conveyancing goes well for you and you like your new home when you complete.
