Do you know how long your foods been in the freezer/fridge ?

If you are like me you forget when you put those chicken legs in the freezer ?
I have found a great product which is a genious invention called time strip

You buy a little pack and you put one of the labels on the food in the fridge or freezer before you put them in. They have a little bubble/button you press to activate timer and a window which magically counts days or months for you. Inexpensive and no trots  ever again !

Pure Genious !

No wasted food either I WAS FOREVER throwing out food because I was not sure how many days it was opened or months it has been frozen.

I have saved money already by usung these !www.timestrip.com

I keep meaning to get organized like my mum and write everything in a book when it is going in the freezer. She puts the item, the date it was bought and the use by date, then crosses them off as they are used.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

You've just reminded me my gran used to do this - but she used the back of a (used) envelope and kept the list in the microwave!

    What does it matter!
I eat things that have been stuck in the freezer for months!
    No harm init is there?
  • You can freeze food for as long as you like, perfectly safely. It is the quality that deteriorates after certain periods of time......but will still be perfectly SAFE to eat.

One thing that will help is making sure that food is wrapped properly before freezing......this helps to prevent freezer burn too!

I just try to ensure that I've got a drawer for each type of foodstuff and when I add new ones, I put them under the old ones, so that hopefully, the oldest stuff gets used first.
