Best value home insurance

I am looking to take out home contents insurance with legal expenses attached to it. Does anyone know the best company to check for this services.:rotfl:

It depends on your requirements and what you are willing to pay for Insurance. The saying ' you get what you pay for' is relevant here.
To help people assist you in their recommendations, roughly what are your requirements for
Buildings Insurance
Contents Insurance (standard risks)
" " ( valuables i.e. jewellery, silver, paintings etc)
Personal Possessions ( cover away from home)
Legal Expenses. What would you want this to cover ?

There are lots of insurers that provide free legal expenses. You could try Towergate, Zurich, Legal & General, More than.. to name but a few. You can also buy household legal cover seperatley for very little these days. It will cost from £15 to £25 depending on the insurer/broker.
To get a competitive quote google something like, guaranteed to beat your household renewal, and a whole host of companies will come up all offering good incentives such as free legal cover.

Tesco home insurance is very cheap at the moment if you want buildings insurance too. Not sure for just contents and legal though0

and probably conver away from home but there again if on holiday then I would take out travel insurance.
Travel insurance is very unlikley to offer the cover you expect in regards belongings. Cover is usualy on an indemnity only basis not new for old like your household personal posessions cover. The limits, both aggregate and single item, are often not enough to cover what a lot of people take away with them now - ipods, phones, nice and very nice cameras etc...
Travel is really there for the medical and liability insurance combined with the 24 hour 365 days multilanguage helplines, then the cancellation/delay covers. The baggage cover is just tacked on and useful in emergency (e.g. lost luggage)0 -

Would not recommend Aviva, Morethan, Esure, Sheilas Wheels or Zurich to name just a few.
With legal expenses, you might find that many will not cover anything to do with employment issues. If this is something you are interested in being covered for, you are really best to join the relevant trade union, as some offer legal assistance with membership.The comments I post are personal opinion. there is a big difference between legal assistance and legal expenses cover. 1 gives you information and advice, the other pays all your fees.I am a Mortgage Adviser

You will find that the legal expenses under Home Insurance works in the same way. They won't get involved, unless they have a realistic chance of winning in court, so they can get their costs back. They certainly won't get involved in any grievance issues you might have. They will just tell you to follow your employers grievance procedure.
If this is something you want specific legal cover for, I would suggest that you obtain a separate Insurance. Find a broker using http://www.biba.org.uk/ConsumerHome.aspx
I have dealt with employment issues to do with reasonable adjustments required by the DDA. A good employer will have fully trained advisors to help line managers, so they know the requirements and can make the necessary adjustments. Find out from your employer, the name and contact details of someone that is responsible for helping with compliance with the DDA. I believe that they have to carry out regular assessments, which have to be documented. You are entitled to ask for assessment of your needs.
