decorating bridal suite

My sis gets married soon and i would like to put some special touches in their bridal suite. I don't want anything tacky i was thinking about:-

Rose petals on the bed - will check okay with hotel first
Champagne on ice
candles would be nice but i may have to try and get those fake ones rather than naked flames..

THey have a big dining table in their room so was thinking about some nibbles for them?

Not gonna bother filling bath ...

Creative ideas welcomed please!!

  • Are they having a guestbook?
maybe put that in tehre on the table? They might like to have a little look at it that night or in the morning?
How about a newspaper from that day as a keepsake?

Petals on the bed are a lovely idea...we went to the maldives and on our last night we returned to petals placed in heart shaped designs over the bed...they used artificial petals so as not to stain the bed and just place a few fresh flowers on the bed...the effect was stunning
champagne and a couple of glasses is also a good one....nibbles...perhaps think about some chocolate and maybe something like fruit....it really depends what time of day your sister will be going back to the room...perhaps you need to think along the lines of things that will stay freshest and can keep till the following day ...
You say not to fill the bath...but how about placing some lovely bubble bath and toiletries/fluffy bathrobes nearby...as the following morning before they leave the hotel they may want to use them...

  • thanks i like the idea of the guestbook, I will prob be the one making sure everyone has signed anyway, and some balloons - not too tacky. I may go for some rose stems as opposed to petals on the bed i can always put them on a towel if the hotel are fussy... Keep the suggestions coming i am making a list!!

Ah my sister loves penguins, she wanted penguin invitations and penguin cake decorations but she couldn't find any..... So i know what you mean!!

just remembered i now need to think about their car, got a car plaque sorted and a vinyl just married transfer for the back of the window. I would have loved to have done the full works with the cans and everything but they have to travel down A19 home!!

Too much to do - pleased her friend sorted the hen do out!!

I bought ribbon and a bow for our car for about £1.60! 6m of ribbon and one of those pull bows for the front. It was from ebay - they had loads of different colours - don't know whether they had what you were looking for!
