Any recommendations for Lawn care companies ?

Hi MSEs !
I am thinking of engaging one of those companies to maintain my lawn. Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) ?

I reckon the lawn is probably 10m x 30m

Do I need a monthly contract or quarterly ?

My parents' lawn was is a sorry state. For the last few years I haven't been well enough to do the usual routine on it.

We got a recommendation for GreenThumb and gave them a try. We're very impressed with them - they turn up when they say, they work quickly and efficiently, their rates are very reasonable and the difference in the lawn is amazing. There's no contract to sign - they assess the lawn and suggest a treatment regime. If you're happy with it, they turn up and do it and give you a date for the next time. If you don't want it anymore, you cancel the appointment.

I don't know if the service is as good in every area as GreenThumb is a franchise but I would suggest giving them a try.
  • I agree with Mojisola.....I used Green Thumb for just over a year on my poorly laid lawn. They came quarterly and treated the weeds and fertilised the grass. They were great. They can come when you are out, as long as they have access. They come first and quote then come back and treat and put a bill through your door. I would definitely recommend them! You dont have to commit to more than one treatment and my grass looked so well!

I can assure you that I've just given our experience. I don't have any connection with the firm.

The lawn really needed something doing with it and I asked a neighbour who runs a grass cutting business, thinking he would do it. He said he gets GreenThumb to do his own lawn and that was good enough for me.
  • Many thanks for the input folks - will call Green Thumb shortly
