Not sure if this is the correct place but...
A couple of weeks ago my wife recieved a letter from the above company requesting she paid a debt off of £375. The letter was addressed to her maiden name to an address we haven't been in very long (10 months). We ignored this letter as we hadn't a clue what it was about.
We have just recieved another letter by the same company saying that they are acting for their clients (british gas) and that if we don't pay the amount by Monday they will send a field visit officer around to recover the money owed to thier client! All this after just 2 letters for a debt we don't owe. My wife has never been a customer of british gas!
Also, after looking on the internet about the company, it seems that the same has happened to several women recently and all of them pregnant...I don't to explain what my wife has in common with these other women...do i. It all seems very strange and any advice would be most welcome.
Thank you.

If your wife is pregnant, then she is not responsible for any of her actions or debts she may have incurred. Tell the bailiffs this as it is pukka gen.0

You don't need to understand it, as it was made up by Freddie who was trying to be funny and on this occasion, missing the target.
However if it is not her debt, she does not need to pay it. They will very likely not send anyone round, it is just to scare you. There is a template letter you can send - Click here for template prove it letter.0 -

And if it is her debt, ignnorance of it may not be bliss. there is a bored that deals with this matter around this parish, perchance that be the place to post. You will note that bored is not visited by me for reason such as most people there are seeking help.
People who post here are treated differntly by me.0 -
