Hi there,
I have an old sony handycam tcr 60e camcorder which uses the 8mm format. Bought in 1993 and have a fair number of tapes recorded but at same time wasn't used a great deal last 7 or so years. I have just replaced the batteries with these 2 at a cost of £27

but now I am having further troubles. A lot of noise on the old tapes when I playback on both picture and sound, (I have tried cleaning with alcahol etc) but the funny thing is if I record now and playback then it seems to be ok. DO you think its a case of getting the heads realligned and what are my best options do you think, try a repair or get a new camcorder. Would like to be still able to see the old tapes, though I'm lucky in a sense I have copied a few to dvd within past 2 months, the most important ones. I'm in N ireland so if anyone knows a good repairer here?
many thanks
Joe
