Medivet on Panorama last night

This Medivet company is nothing much more than a money making business, they do not seem to have the animals welfare at heart and they do not have any scruples about over charging the customer big fees.

This programme was quite upsetting with the hidden cameras they have on the reporters, guys please, if you go to a vet choose a local private one that is in the vet business because they love animals, not because they want your cash and don't care about your pets.
Owed out = lots.

  • Did anyone actually need Panorama to tell them that a local private vet would always be a better choice?

I try not to use big name companies as much as possible for our every day needs......including all the animals........for that very reason....they are only interested in money.

My local vets are the nicest vets I have ever had thankfully....and as Ive moved around, Ive seen a few.......so Medivet would never get a look in here.

Good to see a warning post about them though.

I used our local medivet when my cat had her accident a few weeks back, this was before I saw the programme and found them very good. I couldn't get hold of our regular vet and they were able to meet me at their clinic within minutes. The staff were sympathetic, very good with her, let me stay with her, kept me informed, I was really impressed on the whole. They haven't charged me for any of her follow up visits, at least 2 a week for the last 6 weeks, only the medication, and have been letting me pay off her bill in installments.

My cat has the same vet in which she sees each time, and all of the staff seemed to have her best interests at heart.

I heard about the panorama thing afterwards, and surely, like any chain, there'll be good and bad practises? I'm not making excuses for what went on at that practise, far from it, but merely questioning whether all of the others should be condemned?
