don't know what's gotten into me. In the past three hours I have deep cleaned our bedroom (tidied floordrobe, washed windows, dusted, changed bedding, cleaned skirting and hoovered), done a wash, put it on an extra spin, put it on airer to dry, tuned my new ukulele and had a play, AND done a stint on the exercise bike

I think I need a lie down :rotfl:

Tonight is my fourth night of my new bedtime routine (bed for ten, lights out 10.30). So i'm going to go veg in front of big bang series for half an hour before i retire to my pit. Hopefully after a week or two this will make a noticeable difference to my energy levels, as i'm useless when I'm tired. Night all

I so should do that, then I would spend less of the day zombied and drinking coffee, and then I would be able to sleep on a night and wake up fresh, and break the cycle. Night hon x

So should I! I'm terrible about not getting enough sleep. When I was married I went to bed at a reasonable time because X did. Now I need my own self-discipline not to stay up stupidly late, but I haven't got enough of it. :o

Have to admit, 'The Big Bang Theory' keeps me entertained, too. :D

Mortgage free is fun, but keeping out of debt gets more and more difficult as work continues and prices keep rising. Got new bathroom window going in this afternoon and preparing for work starting on replacing flat roof - another £3k+ going out then we'll be into the wet weather and looking more at keeping on top of the electricity and heating costs and keeping the cupboards, fridge & freezer filled.

Pavlov's, have you had a look at the Rosspa.co.uk website? I'm doing a monthly shop from there and can highly recommend their fresh fruit, veg and meat. (I have a thread about them in my blog forum, won't go off topic here) It's certainly saving me a small fortune and it's delivered to the door, so no travel costs. Their delivery charge is less than it costs me to drive into town and back. :)

Last but not least... Pavlov's, hope you're not into nest-building mode with all that whirlwind cleaning you've been doing?

You two are as bad as my mum and MIL, getting broody on my behalf :naughty::D I am getting broodier, but like the idea of a few more years being foot-loose and fancy free. Plus maternity pay is absolutely shocking, and I wouldn't be able to afford more than a term off with baby. I don't like the idea of having to go back so soon, so I'd like to wait until we can more comfortably afford to start a family. If it happens in the meantime then it would be a happy accident, but we're actively trying to prevent if from happening IYSWIM. Both DM and MIL are desperate for a(nother in MIL's case) grandchild.

Frugaldom - have never heard of Rosspa, shall mosey over to your forum to learn more

I've just joined Michelle's Big Push to Christmas Challenge

    Here's what I'm aiming for

    Health
    1. Maintain my new sleep routine (bed by 10, lights out by 10.30) at least 5 nights a week.
I've been doing this since 28/08 in readiness for going back to school, and am already starting to feel the benefit.
    2. Get weight back down to 9 and a half stone
Only half a stone, but I can't seemed to be bothered to step away from the chocolate and DO something about it. It's only going to get worse if I don't act now, and I can't face the thought of having to buy clothes in a bigger size :oI've put on 2 and a half stone since 2004. I'm getting to the stage where I can't get away with the extra. I know I'm still teeny compared to some of you lovelies who are battling against much larger numbers, but I'm starting to look porky and that's just not me :(
    3. Eat better (more water, fruit and veg, less junk, take aways, meals out etc).
Taking lunch to work and sticking to a grocery budget should help with this.

    Wealth
    1. Beat 2011 MFW target by £300
    2. Earn £20 in vouchers (I'm very illdisciplined about doing them)
Will not be including P!necone in this, just ipsos, pigsback, mysurveys, yougov, onepoll and mutalpoints

    Up the ante
    1. Better work life balance -
    A) Master tuning uke in 5 mins or less
    B) Master 7 basic uke chords
    C) Master at least one song on uke
    D) make more of an effort to see friends and loved ones.
    E) something to look forward to: arrange mini breaks to Liverpool and Amsterdam

    2) Organised head, organised home, organised life
    A) Re-join Flylady and complete at least level 1s weekly.
    B) Use my beautiful new moleskine diary and 'to do' list book to keep on top of things

    Frugal Challenge
    1) Lunch for work at least 4 days out of every 5
    2) Grocery budget from now - december 31st £650 or less (get a firm grip on it, with a view to reducing it from January).
    3) Work out a budget for Christmas presents and stick to it

Spendy day today. £47 for a hair cut. Even though i budget for it, the price always make me go  but it looks luverly and lasts a good 3-4 months. I have extremely wavy hair, and the guy i see is actually a specialist in afro hair. he is such a demon with the scissors that i can get a good 3-4 months out of a haircut without feeling like a total scarecrow. all the other salons around me charge at least £30 a pop for a cut and blow dry, and i'm lucky to leave the salon with a cut i'm happy with, never mind one that will last beyond 8 weeks before it needs doing again. It's just a false economy to let anyone else near my hair.

I then went to boots and after failing miserably to blag some free samples, I blew £20 on the travel size Clinique 3 step system. My skin which is normally pretty clear and well behaved has been all over the shop the past few weeks. So as part of the 'taking better care of me' resolution I thought it was worth the splurge. :shhh: it would have been a much bigger splurge but the £60 worth of leccy toothbrushes I wanted weren't in stock

3 bargaineous reduced to clear tshirts in primark and a few more smellies in superdrug later and another £15 took care of itself. I've left myself £25 and a few coins in my purse and I'm going to try and stick to it throughout the month for all incidentals and retail therapy fixes.

MBPTC (Chelle's big push to chrimbo) news.... last night was night 4 of the new bedtime routine, and today i woke up just before the alarm so i take it that's a sign that my body is starting to get into a rhythm. Starting to feel vaguely more awake/energetic during the day too, although I've read it can take a good 7-14 days of strictly observing a bedtime routine before you *really* notice a difference. Been a good girl food wise (nothing vaguely treatwise has passed my lips) although i'm struggling to remember to drink more. Trying not to be too hard on myself, it's taken a long time to get into all these bad habits, and they're not going to be fixed overnight.

it's worth sticking with it. I'm start to feel much less 'bleugh'. Haven't quite reached the 'climb every mountain' stage, but i'm sure it's only a matter of time :D Once school kicks in I might even bring bedtime forward and get up earlier as i'm much more productive first thing in the morning.

Just spent two hours in the back garden attacking the lawn and the weeds. It's looking much tidier now :j
