Cement in crack?

Last year we had what looked like a crack in our front porch area in the grouted areas, visible from outside. My dad (bless him) advised us to fill with normal grey cement, but the rest of the grouting is white. My hubby filled as instructed, but even now you can tell that its been "patched up", we were told that in time it will become like the rest, but we're thinking of moving house, and obviously would like it to look presentable to viewers. The cement mixture also went over the front of a few of the bricks and even though we got it off, it still looks quite messy. Any ideas, other than sandblasting?

Comments

  • Sandblasting is not much good on bricks and you would need to do the whole lot or it will look odd.

A pressure washer might do the trick, but then again it might make the bits that have not been done dirty.

    Brick acid is another option.
