How do Fraudsters get your bank details

I guess the card number itself is the most important thing as call centres won't read that back but will happily repeat the other details.
What I've always wondered is how they can get money just using bank details. I seem to recall Jeremy Clarkson coming a cropped on this. Do they setup a bogus company and take DD's or what?Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.0 -
Various methods;
-ATM machine - they insert a card reader into the little box you insert your card into.
-When you use a wireless connection, if you're banking online and you have not secured your computer with anti-viruses etc.
-Online shopping.
-Fraudsters can work in banks and steal your details whilst doing their job....it's important to take the first step...action=reaction..0 -
I've not purchased anything from a mobile retailer no. Having read this it's quite horrifying to see how easily card details can be obtained even if you take every precaution you can.0

1p transactions, in my experience, generally aren't fraudulent.0

A while back my Natwest maestro card was cloned or certainly used fraudently, one of the purchases was from carphonewarehouse, one from cineworld both for smallish amounts (under £20), then the big one from dabs.com for £600 +.
Of the 3 places, only dabs had I used before which was about a year beforehand.
Natwest alerted me straight away but then things went downhill fast and I had to chase them to get the forms needed to put in a claim etc..
I assume it was cloned when I used it in a cash machine. I hadn't used it in any dodgy shops/places or websites and I'm extremely savvy when it comes to the net and security (although of course even the most savvy of people can still be a victim).0
