Hi all
We got our first weim 20 months ago a girl and whilst she was the hardest work ever as a pup we love her to death and shes got a heart of gold.
We are going to be getting another one (male) from the same parents so they will be brother/sister, where due to get him in about 8/9 weeks depnding when breeder is happy to let us have him.
I keep thinking "am i mad" lol, we have a 3 year old toddler as well mad house !
But i have to say of all the other breeds we have owned in the past weims are jst amazing almost human and they think there lap dogs lol follow you about everywhere.
So jst awaiting the fun to start now ! lol
Any other weims owners here ?

I also have a Weim, Roxy, who is 61/2 years old. I don't think you're mad at all. The only thing stopping us getting another one, is the cost at the moment. Hopefully sometime after Christmas, I can convince my husband of the "necessity" of getting her a little companion before she gets much older. I love her to absolute bits and you're right, she's like a little leech permanently attached to my leg in the house. They're so curious and nosy - its funny. I love the fact that they are so intelligent and funny - who wouldn't want 2?Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k

We've recently got a 13 week old lab/weim cross and he is amazing...he seems to have picked up the best traits from both breeds and is a stunner.
Weimadors are such beautiful dogs! We're definately looking to get another pup in a year or so...0 -
Ex weim owner here - she died in 1996 aged 16:heartsmil
Would love to have another, but no room in the house! (3 others already hogging all the space!):D0 -
We too are Weim owners, ours is crazy, don't know if I could handle 2! They really do think that they are human, and our's is a real Mummy's girl, she follows me everywhere, thinks she is human, and is always trying to squeeze herself into the gap between me and DH on the sofa! We have a Cross Collie, so she has a playmate, however her friend is one of the cats who she gives kisses to and the cat loves it, the only thing we struggle with is the Seperation Anxiety, she gets so upset if she's left, even for a moment. We are working on it, but it's been a long struggle, but we love her to bits and will probably always have this breed now.0

Good to hear there are so many of us out there. My baby (!she's 61/2 now so I really should stop calling her that but I can't) had to have her womb removed a couple of months ago. We were trying to pick the right time to let her have a litter of pups as we wanted to keep one but she took a terrible infection (I can never remember the name) and they said it was caused because she still had her womb at that age and had not had pups and they had to take it all out. Life or death situation ... it wasn't a difficult choice. We'll just get a pup elsewhere.
I agree though, that I don't think I could ever have another breed of dog other than a Weim. They are the must lovable, family orientated creatures. She would protect me with her last breath but at the same time, is so friendly and absolutely adores children even though we don't have any ourselves.
Like others, she is always stuck to our legs and she does suffer separation anxiety when we are away but we got round that by putting her into luxury kennels that care for her well with a good carer to dog ratio and 24 hour attention. The most we leave her is for 2 weeks and I think I suffer from seperation anxiety then, never mind her. You have to live and I always think of it as paying for her to have a little holiday - I can tell you it probably costs as much as my holiday so she would need to enjoy it

Hi owens3116, just wondering how you've managed to get on with your pup and what name you gave him.Debt at DMP start (1st Oct 10) £30,838k
