Sickness,unemployment Insurance...

Hi ya,
Hoping someone can help, My husband has damaged his knee (an old injury from his school days, he's now 40 !!) he jerked it couple of weeks ago he can hardly walk he had an xray 2wks a go, you hve to wait 3wks for results.
He is hoping they are going to do surgery. which will mean he will be laid up for few weeks and he doesnt get full pay. which will mean we will struggle to pay mortgage..

Was wondering would we beable to put in for insurance now then when the operation comes round which could take months, will we still be covererd will they pay out....

If you take out cover now then the pre existing medical condition would be excluded from any future claim.

It would be fairly poor business if an insurance company let you take out a policy without exclusions for something they knew you were going to claim on.

No you can't insurance for a known condition.

Thats fine thanks, to be fair thats what i thought mind.
Would you know if we would get any extra help on tax credits while he would be on sick pay??
Just trying to find out where we will beable to get extra money from when the time comes... cheers
